Cameron Asao dropped out of Ringling College of Art & Design in order to spend more time painting in a warehouse in Kansas City with a group of world class illustrators and their experimental art school. There he managed to become a decent vacuum salesman and manufactured bullets. When the school closed, he moved to Oregon and found work manufacturing sushi.

The people over at LAIKA Studios saw his bullets and sushi and gave him a shot at painting film sets for their stop motion animated films. The folks over at Netflix Animation thought Cameron was a decent guy and hired him to paint even more film sets for a Jordan Peele / Henry Selick movie.

He sent Wieden + Kennedy an egg and they hired him, particularly because he had no advertising experience.

He’s writing this to make sense of it himself.
