What began as a job application has become the source of endless work that encorporates writing, sculpture, and film. It explores Japanese America, the meaning of disaster, and asks people to reconsider the ways that we create culture.
I’m
currently working on a full length Japanese Monster book project through a year long mentorship under the guidance of Minnesota poet Sun Yung Shin.
Original submission to Wieden + Kennedy
A sculptural essay that tells the story of the 2008 recession through the lense of a kaiju movie. Created for my application to Wieden + Kennedy PDX’s creative incubator, The Kennedys.
